What does seamless mean?

A pattern design can consist of very complex and converging elements. One single element is technically defined as a pattern repeat. The edges of seamless patterns have to seamlessly match each other. Please note that pattern designs available on the Pattern Design online shop meet this requirement. Daily, we encounter seamless patterns on apparel, home textiles (e.g. wallpaper), wrapping paper, webdesign, printdesign and much more.

What is a vector graphic?

Vector graphics use geometrical primitives such as points, lines, curves, shapes and polygons to represent images in computer graphics. Vector graphics are based on an accurate graphic description which exactly define the elements of an image composition. Moreover, vector graphics require a significantly reduced disk space than e.g. raster graphics.
Seamless patterns at Pattern Design are offered in .svg format (Scalable Vector Graphics).

What does scalable mean?

Scalable = enlargeable. In the area of image processing the scaling is used to enlarge or reduce vector graphics and vector ornaments. Vector graphics can be scaled indefinitely without degrading quality.

What is the difference between .svg format and .psd format (PhotoShop Document)?

The .svg format provides a great variety to maximize your possibilities in redyeing, extracting of particular ornaments/elements and resizing of a seamless pattern. By using a .psd format you will either have to consider more time or face limitations in e.g. resizing.
The size of a .svg format can be minimized to 5 % or even scaled by 700 % without degrading quality.
Particular ornaments/elements of a seamless pattern can be extracted with a simple mouse-click and used for e.g. placement prints for a shirt print or inserted in another seamless pattern. Colours can be changed to be in line with the e.g. the fashion trend.

Is Pattern Design free to join?

Yes. Pattern Design is free to join and there is no purchase commitment. You can sign up directly on the Pattern Design website. Please assure to complete the mandatory boxes correctly that we can confirm your sign up. Please sign up here. You can cancel your membership at any time.

How do you close your account?

Please send us a short e-mail indicating that we should shut down your account.

Can you use the online shop as a private costumer?

You are able to purchase our seamless patterns as a private costumer by:

• one of our partners, which are indicated in the area „Partner“
• an agency or an freelance graphic designer
• a registered company (VAT No.)

How do you search for seamless patterns?

We can offer you two options for your fast and qualitative search of seamless patterns:
Keyword search: You describe your seamless pattern by entering your keyword (e.g. "Flower") in the search box. Then click the button „go“ to launch the search.
Gallery search: In the area „Patternshop“ you will find design styles sorted by specific galleries. Following, you will find the galleries split by themes within our high-quality seamless patterns are clearly displayed.

What happens if you click the following icons?

The seamless pattern will be displayed on your wallpaper respectively desktop background.

The seamless pattern will pop up in a light box to display the pattern repeat.

The seamless pattern will be added to your cart. The figure in the star symbol informs you about the number of seamless patterns in your cart.

The pattern above the icon will be added to your Favourites. As far as you have not logged in, you will be requested to do so.

How do you buy seamless patterns?

You buy economically priced seamless patterns, in a simple and reliable way from Pattern Design:

Sign up:
Sign up and membership are free. You will not face any hidden charges. The confirmation for your sign up will be sent to you by e-mail. Upon receipt of the e-mail please click the quoted link to reconfirm.

Choose seamless pattern:
Please choose your seamless pattern by keyword or gallery search. You have the opportunity to deposit seamless patterns in your Favourites and sort them or buy them directly.

Buy directly:
Choose your preferred license and put the seamless pattern in your cart. Please run through the ordering process. After your banking and credit card details have been verified you can download your seamless pattern from the secured client area.

What should you do if you forgot your Password or Login-name?

Please click „login“ to access the login area. Below the login boxes you have to click on „forgot Password“. You will be sent immediately an e-mail containing your Password. To regain your Login-name simply open your confirmation e-mail which you have received after your sign-up. Naturally, you are also welcome to contact us directly.

How do you change your Login Name?

Please contact us directly as this change has to be made by us.

How do you change your Password?

Please enter the secured client area and click on the link „change Password“. In the first field please insert your current Password and in the following two fields please insert your new Password. Then click on „save“. The new Password is consequently verified by us. A Password change requires the confirmation of your sign up.

Does pattern design really offer economically priced seamless patterns?

Yes, indeed and at the same time each license lives up to its promise! You will not face any additional charges within the choosen license, e.g. for a certain scope of application (Print, Web, etc.). The seamless patterns are exclusively created by highly-skilled and experienced textile- and graphic designers for professional use.

Will you receive an invoice of your purchase?

Naturally, you will receive an invoice for each purchase you make. Please find the according invoice within your secured client area. Just click on „details“ of the corresponding purchase to download the invoice (.pdf) with the personal details according to the sign up. If required, the invoice can be delivered by mail too.

Where can you print your invoice?

As you have followed the instructions from the previous question you can directly print the selected invoice with the command „print“.

How do you download a seamless pattern?

You save the purchased seamless pattern directly on your hard drive. In your secured client area you click within "previous orders" on the "details" to download your recently bought seamless pattern via the download link.

Can you download a purchased seamless pattern again?

Yes. You can download again a purchased seamless pattern from your secured client area. Please note that you are able to download your purchased seamless patterns any time.

Are you allowed to resell a seamless pattern which you purchased from pattern design?

No, it is strictly forbidden to resell your purchased seamless patterns. This means that you are not allowed to amplify a seamless pattern and sell the copies. For further information please check our licenses.

What kind of licenses does Pattern Design offer?

In total, Pattern Design offers three license options – „UNLIMITED“ and „EXCLUSIVE“. The license „EXCLUSIVE“ is timely split in „EXCLUSIVE limited“ and "EXCLUSIVE unlimited“. For further information please revert directly to our licenses.

What are Favourites?

Favourites can be used to deposit a pre-selection of seamless patterns in your secured client area. Within the Favourites you can define folders, e.g. Collection Winter XY, where to allocate specific seamless patterns and consequently achieve an overview/structure of your pre-selected seamless patterns.

How do you create your own Favourites?

Sign up:
Sign up and membership are free. You will not face any hidden charges. The confirmation for your sign up will be sent to you by e-mail. Upon receipt of the e-mail please click the quoted link to reconfirm.

Choose seamless pattern:
Please choose your seamless pattern by keyword or gallery search. Then click the button - - below the seamless pattern to allocate it to your Favourites respectively to your defined folder, e.g. Collection Winter XY. You are able to define folders at any time and consequently allocate your seamless patterns.

Buy Favourites:
As soon as you have made a decision on your final selection you can transfer the selected seamless patterns from your Favourites into your cart by clicking the corresponding button „cart“ and run the order process.
